The purpose of this Privacy Policy (the "Policy") is to outline how we handle your personal data at Cromore Retreat. We adhere to this Policy, together with any disclaimers, to set out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed. Please read the following carefully to understand our use of personal data. This Policy relates only to living individuals in relation to personal data relating directly to themselves.
Registered Office:
Cromore Retreat
52 Cromore Road, Portstewart BT55 7PW
We retain two types of information:
We collect personal data when you provide it to us directly or via our services. This data may include:
We use this data to process your booking, communicate with you about your stay, and improve our services. We do not sell, rent, or trade email lists or personal information with any other organisations or businesses.
If you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics records how you use the site (pages viewed, the site or search that brought you here, browser type, approximate location from your IP address) so we can improve it. If you allow marketing cookies and arrived from a Google ad, we keep Google’s click identifier so that a later booking can be reported back to Google Ads as coming from that ad. Neither runs unless you agree in the cookie banner. See section 4.
We also keep anonymous visit statistics on our own server: the page viewed, the referring website, country and UK nation, device type and any stay dates searched. This uses no cookies, we do not keep your IP address, and it cannot identify you or recognise you on a later visit. We do this under our legitimate interest in running and improving the website, and you can switch it off in Cookie settings. See our Cookie Policy.
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
We only process your data for these legitimate business purposes and do not use it for unsolicited marketing.
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal data. Our website uses HTTPS encryption, and we use a variety of security measures to prevent unauthorised access to your data. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is entirely secure.
Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA) when using cloud-based services. Although non-EEA countries may not provide the same level of data protection, we take steps to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.
We only set cookies that are strictly necessary to take and manage your booking without asking. All other cookies, which are Google Analytics and a Google Ads click identifier, are set only if you choose to allow them in the banner shown on your first visit. “Reject all” is as easy as “Accept all”, nothing is pre-selected, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. We ask again after six months.
A full list of every cookie and browser-storage item we use, who sets it, why, and how long it lasts is in our Cookie Policy. When you make a choice we keep a record of it (a random identifier, the time, what you allowed and which policy version you saw) so that we can demonstrate consent if asked. If you go on to book, that identifier is stored with your booking.
We do not actively share your personal data. However, we may disclose your data to trusted third-party service providers, each given access only to what its service needs:
We require all of these providers to protect your information according to our standards.
In some instances, we may be required by law to disclose personal information, such as in response to a court order or regulatory requirement.
As a data subject, you have the following rights:
To exercise these rights, please contact us at info@cromoreretreat.com.
We retain personal data as long as necessary for booking management, record-keeping, and compliance with legal obligations. Data may be stored permanently unless you request deletion in accordance with your rights under data protection laws.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. By continuing to use our site after such changes, you agree to the updated Policy.
If you have any questions, comments, or complaints regarding this Policy and the information we hold, please contact us at info@cromoreretreat.com. All requests will be dealt with promptly and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
